Our first step was a thorough exploration of the symbolism, philosophy and art form of bonsai, leaning into its rich representation of tradition, transformation and time. Integral to both bonsai and banking is the spirit of purpose, patience and precision—our storytelling drew a strong connection between the careful sculpting, nurturing and pruning of each bonsai, and UOB’s enduring commitment, adaptability and growth to thrive across cycles and seasons. We then conceptualised, scripted and produced a cinematic docu-story composed of inspiring interviews, atmospheric detail, and striking shots of UOB’s cultivated bonsai courtyards across regions.
Immersing stakeholders in an unparalleled journey through craft
Central to this video narrative was a bespoke masterclass hosted for UOB’s leadership and private banking clients, led by renowned Kyoto-based bonsai master Bjorn Bjorholm—for which we crafted a dedicated key visual and messaging. Held within the newly refurbished lobby of UOB Tower, the event was framed by soaring granite pillars and cathedral-like glass panels; outside, majestic bonsai trees formed a powerfully resonant backdrop. Guiding guests through a live demonstration of bonsai techniques, the masterclass memorably positioned UOB as a steward of timeless value, artistic excellence and considered growth.

Adapted for a series of internal and external cuts, the filmic narrative achieved broad multi-channel reach and maximum engagement among UOB’s cherished stakeholders.
